⛏ Kellercamp 25 ⛏Server Setup Guide
📖 Getting Started
Follow these steps to set up and connect to our Minecraft server. We recommend using MultiMC launcher for the best experience.
💡 Note: A modpack is not required to join the server, but we provide recommended modpacks below for the best experience with quality-of-life improvements and enhancements.
⚠️ Important: This server requires Java 21. Please follow all steps carefully.
☕ Step 1: Install Java 21
Minecraft requires Java 21 to run. We recommend using Azul Zulu, a free and reliable Java distribution.
💡 Note: MultiMC should automatically discover Java 21 if it's installed. Only follow these detailed instructions if MultiMC doesn't detect it automatically.
- Visit Azul Zulu Downloads
- Select the following options:
- Java Version: Java 21 (LTS)
- Operating System: Choose your OS (Windows, macOS, or Linux)
- Architecture: x86 64-bit (or ARM if you have Apple Silicon Mac)
- Java Package: JDK
- Download the installer for your operating system
- Run the installer and follow the installation wizard
💡 Note: If you already have a different Java version installed, that's fine! MultiMC can use multiple Java versions, and we'll configure it to use Java 21 specifically.
🚀 Step 2: Install MultiMC Launcher
MultiMC is a custom Minecraft launcher that makes it easy to manage different Minecraft instances with different mods.
- Visit multimc.org
- Click the Download button for your operating system
- Install MultiMC:
- Windows: Extract the ZIP file to your Desktop (e.g.,
Desktop\MultiMC) and run MultiMC.exe
- macOS: Open the DMG file and drag MultiMC to your Desktop. Then run
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine ~/Desktop/MultiMC.app in Terminal to remove the quarantine flag
- Linux: Extract the archive to your Desktop and run the
MultiMC executable
- On first launch, MultiMC will ask you to:
- Select your language
- Set up Java - it should automatically detect Java 21
- Configure memory allocation (see recommendations below)
💡 Tip: If MultiMC doesn't automatically detect Java 21, you can manually point to it:
- Windows: Usually
C:\Program Files\Zulu\zulu-21\bin\javaw.exe
- macOS: Usually
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/zulu-21.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java
- Linux: Run
which java in terminal
👤 Step 3: Add Minecraft Account
Before you can play, you need to add your Minecraft account to MultiMC.
- Open MultiMC (you may need to resize the window wider to see the menu bar at the top)
- In the menu bar at the top, click on Profiles (or Accounts depending on your version)
- Click Add Microsoft (or Add Account)
- A dialog will appear with a link - copy this link
- Open the link in your web browser
- Log in with your Microsoft account (the one associated with your Minecraft purchase)
- Follow the authorization steps in your browser
- Once complete, your account will appear in MultiMC
⚠️ Important: You need a valid Minecraft Java Edition license on your Microsoft account to play. Make sure you're logged in with the correct Microsoft account that owns Minecraft.
📦 Step 4: Download Modpacks (Optional)
Download our recommended modpacks for enhanced gameplay:
Mods Pack (Alternative)
Fabric/Quilt mods only - use this if you want to set up your own Fabric or Quilt instance manually.
📦 Download mods_v1.zip
⚙️ Step 5: Import into MultiMC
Now let's import the modpack into MultiMC (or create a vanilla instance if you prefer):
- Open MultiMC
- Click Add Instance in the top toolbar (or press Ctrl+N / Cmd+N)
- In the dialog that opens:
- Select Import from zip on the left side
- Click Browse and select the
launcher_pack_v1.zip file you downloaded
- Give your instance a name (e.g., "Kellercamp 25")
- Click OK - MultiMC will now extract and set up the instance
- Wait for the import to complete (this may take a minute)
Important: After importing, right-click the instance and select
Edit Instance:
- Go to Settings → Java
- Make sure Java 21 is selected (should be automatic)
- Set Minimum memory allocation to 2048 MB (2GB)
- Set Maximum memory allocation to 50% of your system RAM
- Example: For 16GB RAM, set maximum to 8192 MB (8GB)
🎮 Step 6: Launch and Connect
You're almost ready to play!
- In MultiMC, double-click your server instance to launch it
- The first launch may take a few minutes as Minecraft downloads additional files
- Once Minecraft opens, click Multiplayer
- If you used the launcher pack, the server should already be preconfigured in your server list - just select it and click Join Server!
- If the server isn't listed, click Add Server and enter the server address:
kellercamp.de, then click Done and Join Server
🔧 Troubleshooting:
- If the game crashes on startup, check that you're using Java 21
- If you get "Out of Memory" errors, increase the memory allocation in the instance settings
- Make sure all mods are properly installed in the
mods folder (if using the modpack)
- If you can't connect to the server, verify the server address is
kellercamp.de
⚡ Server Commands
Our server includes special plugins with custom commands to enhance your gameplay:
🖼️ ImageFrame Plugin
Create custom images displayed on maps that can be placed in item frames.
Example: /imageframe create my-frame https://cdn.timo-reymann.de/public/img/logo/timo_reymann/logo.png 2 2 combined
Command syntax:
/imageframe create <name> <img> <width> <height> combined
- <name> - A unique name for your image frame
- <img> - URL to the image you want to display
- <width> - Width in map blocks (e.g., 2 for a 2x2 grid)
- <height> - Height in map blocks (e.g., 2 for a 2x2 grid)
- combined - Creates a single combined map
What you receive: This command gives you a map item and a paper. Use the paper to place the image in item frames on your wall!
👁️ InvisibleItemFrames Plugin
Toggle the visibility of item frames to create seamless wall decorations.
Usage: /invisibleitemframes toggle visibility
How it works:
- Look directly at an item frame
- Run the command to hide or show the frame
- The item inside remains visible, creating a floating effect
- Perfect for creating custom wall art with the ImageFrame plugin!
